About Us
Polmanteer Auto opened in 1969 in Bath, NY, when the grandfather of current owner Gavin Polmanteer opened a Mobil gas and service station. Over the years, the elder Polmanteer brought in each of his five sons to work in the garage, one of which was Gavin’s father Fred.
In 1979, Fred Polmanteer decided to grow the business and started his own Mobil gas and service station in Penn Yan, NY. In 2006, Fred expanded by constructing a new building in a different location Penn Yan. He was involved in the local community, sponsoring everything including little league baseball, auto racing, softball, and golf leagues.
In 2015, Fred took a step back and sold the business to Gavin, who today is proud to carry on the Polmanteer family tradition and expand once again with the addition of a full-service collision shop.
